6k Hits Kiriban For Madcarrot

I said I would, didn't I? All it took was $500 or so in PC repairs It's amazing how much better Photoshop runs with a fast processor, so this was done in only a day instead of the usual week :3

Anyway, this is for *madcarrot, who got the 6000th hit on this gallery. ~ shirowwolf also got it, and his kiriban is forthcoming, but I decided to finish this one first, since the sketch was irritating the hell out of me this morning by being most uncooperative. I finally just scrapped the sketch and doodled out the idea in raw colors in Photoshop, then cleaned it up and fleshed it out. The character is Garrett, Lurian and Mae's third youngest child (before the twins). Garrett is actually one of my favorites of my own characters, though I seldom do anything with him... hehe. I haven't really told anyone about him, though ~ aeris-ucchan should remember a huge write up about him that I sent her, like, 4 years ago. Man, it HAS been a while since I drew him... o_O

For the picture itself.. this was my first attempt at painting a full picture in Photoshop with the tablet, so please forgive the areas I fudged on because they simply wouldn't work out and I decided to leave them rather than fuck up further. It was all drawn ENTIRELY by hand with the tablet stylus, as in, the robe is NOT a generated pattern — I drew a butterfly on one layer, then copied it and pasted it 774 times (I know because of the layer numbers), overlapping each one differently, and reversing about half of them. And of course, hooray for cheap backgrounds... just random brushes spattered about on black, nothing to see there.
